Outward Bound Oregon Whitewater Rafting
There's Nothing Like It!

Take the paddles. This is your river trip of a lifetime.

This exciting whitewater rafting course takes place on the wild and scenic section of the world-renowned Deschutes River in Oregon. The teaching progresses to include reading currents, anticipating obstacles, scouting difficult rapids, and mastering expeditionary river skills. Outward Bound Ten Thousand Islands Canoeing Holiday Break Challenge
Have You Ever Seen a Manatee?

Come see for yourself why Paddler Magazine recently rated Everglades National Park one of the top 10 places for canoeing.

Picture It

Share the water with dolphins, stingrays, manatees, phosphorescence, and fish that jump over the bow of your boat. Admire beautiful butterfly orchids, wading birds, and bald eagles. Have a chance to try out the following skills: paddling techniques, wet exit, self-rescue, compass and chart reading, navigation, equipment maintenance, use of VHF radios, weather forecasting, expedition planning, reading currents and tides, "Leave No Trace" minimum-impact techniques, and environmental study.

You'll be journeying with 6-12 other girls through the Ten Thousand Islands and the Everglades, a southern subtropical region. The Florida Peninsula is believed to be the last part of the continental United States to rise from the ocean, making it the youngest US region, geologically. The Everglades is a shallow, slow-moving sheet of water, which runs from Lake Okeechobee to the Gulf of Mexico. This "river of grass," which is 120 miles long, 50 miles wide, and less than a foot deep, once covered the entire tip of Florida—about 4 million acres.
