Come and get certified. We offer Master Scuba Diver from NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors), Nitrous Gas Training, and Oxygen Rescue Training.
Picture It
If you are an advanced scuba diver (meaning you already have open-water certification) here's a chance to bring your passion to a higher level. Take a deep-water dive—over 60 feet—in Lake Michigan. Try your hand at a practice salvage operation, explore a shipwreck at night in Grand Traverse Bay, and swim along a river bottom under the heart of Traverse City. Between dives, rest, picnic, sightsee, and shop along with 30 fellow divers.

Canoe
Country Rendezvous
A
Two-Country Canoe Trip
Escape from the rush of modern life. Catch the thrill of spotting moose, watching the Northern Lights, and hearing the cry of the loon, while canoeing through Minnesota and Canada.
Picture It
A serene canoe trip through the expansive wilderness of northern Minnesota and southern Ontario, Canada—the gorgeous Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Get a firsthand glimpse of what may give "the bigger picture" a new meaning. Be part of a group of 108 adventurous paddlers. You and your group, of approximately 10 other girls, like the voyageurs of two hundred years ago, will paddle crystal clear lakes and journey through a land that time forgot. Cook over an open fire, sleep in a tent, and learn low-impact camping skills. You'll receive special safety and training before you embark upon the water.

Expedition:
Michigan 2004
Adventure
in the Wild!
Hike. Backpack. Canoe. Sail. Bike. Swim. Boat. Challenge Camp. You can do it all!
Picture It
Are you ready? This will be 12 days of high adventure in the outdoors! You'll put your skills to the test with a 4-10 day wilderness experience with your own expedition team. You select the expedition that best matches your interest and experiences. You'll learn and practice the "Leave No Trace" principals and mix it up with 96 other adventurers-at-heart!
For Grades 7-9 (fall of 2004); Four to five
days out of base camp.
Beginning Hiking: Take a ferry to South Manitou Island in Lake Michigan and set
up base camp. Day hikes will take you to an old lighthouse, shipwreck, and
historic homesteads. On shore, explore the village of Leland and its shops and
wharves.
Beginning Backpacking: Backpack 5-8 miles each day on picturesque North Manitou Island. See Lake Michigan as you travel to the island by ferry. Swim, sightsee, and shop on the mainland.
For Grades 8-11 (fall of 2004); Four to five days out of base camp. Beginning Sailing: Learn to sail a sunfish and spend three nights on an island. Practice your sailing skills during daily lessons.
Beginning Canoeing: Spend time on the Manistee River in northern Michigan. Visit a general store and enjoy the wilderness.
Biking: Take a five-day bike trip through the region, including the Sleeping Dunes National Lakeshore. Plan your route as a group and carry your gear as you bike 15-35 miles each day.
For Grades 9-12 (fall of 2004); Five to nine
days out of base camp.
Intermediate Canoeing: Spend time on Michigan's challenging Pine River. Laze in
the sun, listen to the rush of a river, and savor the meal you cook over a camp
stove.
Intermediate Backpacking: Backpack 5-8 miles each day in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Your group will plan a route either in the mountains or along the lakeshore. See waterfalls, wildlife, and Lake Superior.
Intermediate sailing: Learn to sail a 19-foot Lightning sailboat and then set sail for five days on a northern Michigan Lake.
Advanced Backpacking: Backpack 5-15 miles each day on rugged, rocky terrain in Isle Royale National Park. Maybe spot a majestic moose or hear the cry of the wolf at night. Enjoy spectacular vistas of lakes and shores.

Come out and learn the basics of a sport that's being played by the few and the proud: women golfers.
Picture It
Along with 24 other soon-to-be-great golfers, learn the basics of golf, focus on fitness, and volunteer at an LPGA tournament. Visit dazzling Niagara Falls (the Canadian side) on an overnight trip, and schedules permitting, take in a major Cleveland sporting event—either a Cleveland Indians baseball game or a Cleveland Rockers Women's basketball game.

Travel 14,110 feet above sea level up "Pikes Peak," Colorado's highest mountain peak. Get a spectacular view of the breathtaking backdrop it forms for Colorado Springs. Go on an expedition through Pike National Forest to uncover its natural resources, learn how to protect them, and meet the people who manage them. Take action and make a difference! Participate, along with 23 other girls, in a service project to protect our natural resources at Flying 'G Ranch. Spend a day in the "mile-high" capital of Denver.

Here's a chance to explore what it takes to make a major difference in the out-of-doors—saving lives in the backcountry. Instructors from Wilderness Medical Associates will teach you to respond to simulated emergencies through patient assessment, equipment improvisation, environmental medicine, and trauma treatment. Improve your critical-thinking skills and earn WFR (Wilderness First Responder) certification. Meet women medical professionals, ground and air personnel from NorthFlight EMS, and outdoor experts. Free time options include swimming, sightseeing, canoeing, and visits to Traverse City.

It's cold. It's white. What's there to do? Plenty! You and 29 other snow-gals will take advantage of the wild white world of winter sports. Plus, a visit to the Dennos Museum will teach you about those that know this weather inside and out—the Inuit culture. Celebrate the great Women of the Winter like Susan Butcher, dog sled racer and winner of the Iditarod, Alaska's oldest and longest dog sled race, and Anne Bancroft, the first woman to reach both the North and South Poles. And, of course, there will be time to tour Traverse City with its quaint shops and delicious foods.
