Hyde Park, New York; the Constitution Center in Philadelphia; the Jersey
Shore; and many, many more.

DOUGLASS COLLEGE
Douglass College is where the girls of "Pathways to Politics"
stayed (except for when they're in Washington, D.C.). Visit

At Douglass College, the girls stayed in the New Gibbons Residence Hall. The building is three floors tall and has eight rooms on the first floor, fourteen on the second, and fourteen on the third. As for the features of the dorm, there is a courtyard in the center, a spacious lounge and laundry facilities in the basement, two bathrooms on each floor, a computer/video networked room, and sprinkler fire suppression. During "Pathways to Politics," the first floor had six girl rooms (with a total of twelve girls) and one adult room, the second floor had nine girl rooms (with a total of eighteen girls) and two adults rooms, and the third floor had six girl rooms (with a total of eleven girls) and one adult room.
The rooms of the New Gibbons Residence Hall are 13 by 16 feet, have floors that are tiled, and have windows with blinds. There are two extra-long free-standing beds, two dressers with six drawers, two desks, and two closets in each room. There is also a microfridge in each room.
There are many places close to New Gibbons. These include Cooper Dining Hall, Douglass Library, Music Library, Cook/Douglass Co-op Bookstore, Rutgers Arts Center Complex, Hickman Hall, Douglass College Center, Cook Campus Student Center, Cook/Douglass Recreation Center, Intramural fields, Neilson Dining Hall, and Loree Gym.

ABOUT
WASHINGTON, D.C.
In Washington, D.C., girls visited White House (and saw President Bush as
well as his dog, Barney). And also saw the Indian Treaty Room in the Old Executive Office Building.
Participants also saw some of the monuments, met with U.S. Senators and
women in politics, toured the Capitol building, and explored the
Smithsonian.
The trip to Washington, D.C. was three days/two nights; therefore the participants stayed in a hotel while there.

ABOUT
VAL-KILL IN HYDE PARK, NEW YORK
While at Val-Kill, girls attending this destination had a private
tour of Val-Kill cottage, a private tour of the FDR site, and a self-guided tour of the museum. During this day, they
also get to eat at a diner.

ABOUT
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA
During this day trip, girls visited the National
Constitution Center and saw a multimedia show called Freedom Rising,
explored all the exhibits, and even got to sign the Constitution. After
visiting the National Constitution Center, participants walked to
Independence Mall for lunch and at 2:00, went on either a graveyard tour called Women
in Early Philadelphia or went to Philosophical Hall. Then, they
saw the Liberty Bell and toured Independence Hall.
ABOUT
THE JERSEY SHORE
This was the girls recreation day. They went to the beach and got to
choose to go to a waterpark near the boardwalk or an amusement park that
was on the pier.
